Price and what it carries
- Price
- £2.50 for an adult each crossing, £1.50 for under-12s. Pay on board. The association doesn't say if it takes cards, so bring cash.
- Dogs
- Dogs go free.
- Bikes
- £1.50 a bike. The boat takes two people with bikes at a time.

If it isn't running
There's no bridge over the Butley River below Chillesford. Without the boat you stay on the coast path, which follows one bank up to Chillesford, crosses there and comes back down the other side. It adds about 5 miles.
