Complaints

How to tell us a fact is wrong, make a complaint or ask us to take something down.

PathNous publishes facts about the Norfolk Coast Path and the Suffolk coast path: closures, ferries, buses, tides and what's along the way. Each fact has a source and the date we last checked it. If you think something on the site is wrong, unfair or shouldn't be there, you can tell us.

If a fact is wrong or out of date

Use the Report a problem form. Tell us which stage, what's wrong and where exactly. Councils, ferry operators and landowners are welcome to use it.

We check every report before anything on the page changes. If we can't confirm it, the page stays as it is.

If someone is in danger, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

Other complaints

Tell us if you think, for example:

  • a page is unfair or misleading, even though its facts are sourced
  • something on the site breaks copyright or another law
  • the site shows personal information about you that it shouldn't
  • a paid link isn't clearly labelled
  • we have handled your personal information badly

Please tell us:

  • the address of the page
  • what you are complaining about, and why
  • any evidence, for example a link to an official notice
  • how to reply to you, if you would like a reply

To complain, write to us with the Report a problem form.

What happens next

We will look at the page, the sources behind it and anything you send us.

When an official notice or an operator's own published information backs up a fact, it will usually stay on the site, though we may still change how the page words it.

Asking us to take something down

Say which page, which part of it, and why it should come down. We take down content that is unlawful, for example because it infringes someone's rights, and personal information that shouldn't be published. If a fact is backed by its source, we will normally keep it.
